Measurement Templates for Pattern Systems

Overview

The results of a pattern system are determined by which measurements they choose.
The differences between measurement sets are what create the differences between pattern systems.
The fewer the measurements, the more "tweaking" is required to achieve a good pattern and a good fit.
Also, the fewer the measurements, the more popular the pattern system is because it's "easier to use"!

To make patterns from a pattern system, you will need the system's measurements in your measurement files.
And it would be easier to make a system's patterns if you could use the pattern system's measurement names in your formulas and variables.

Valentina provides templates which pre-select the measurements used by a pattern system.
The templates display Valentina measurements using the pattern system's measurement names.

Templates make it easier to pick up a book or magazine and try out a new pattern or technique.

Templates assist students who are learning patternmaking.
Students can do their assignments, make mistakes, undo their mistakes, and experiment on a much faster learning curve than learning through manual drafting alone.
